Patricia Wang

Patricia is Actuarial Director at Convex. She is a qualified actuary and completed her Masters in data analytics and machine learning from Imperial College London. Patricia has published and presented her paper on using machine learning models to predict the underwriting decision at International Congress of Actuaries 2023 in Sydney, for which she was awarded the winner of the Best Research Under the Age 35. She is also the winner of Swiss Re Prize for Best Reinsurance/Risk Paper, and RGA Best Paper by First-time author at ASSA 2021 conference. She is currently serving as the Deputy Chair of IFOA Actuarial Data Science Working Party, and a member of IFOA Machine Learning in Reserving Working Party. She also served as a committee member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries Asia conference in 2019. She is an experienced speaker at various actuarial conference and is passionate about advancing AI and data science in the insurance industry.
